leather coral

Hey fellow reefers, we currently received a coral frag package from a fello hobbyist is our area. We where told this is a Devils Hand Leather but further research makes me believe this might be another type of leather, any input would be great thanks!

I can't remember when we got this, but I'm pretty sure we were told it's a small piece of blue leather coral. At the time, we didn't question it, but just for kicks, the other day I tried to get a better identification and well, could not find anything, but saw some sponges which look similar...

so I got this leather coral last night, put it in the tank and it was going great thismorning however I moved it this afternoon to try to give it more space and it’s polips haven’t opened back up, I think in the process of moving it the torch coral stung it does anyone have ideas on what to do...
