longevity

I want to know it all, any insight would be extremely helpful, even the smallest one. I just want to know what I am getting into costwise to size as well as longevity. Can tanks really last forever? Seriously, any input on the subject is very much appreciated.

Essentially I’m asking how long could you keep a waterbox tank without having to worry about the cabinet wearing down or the silicone wearing out? This is assuming you clean up any spilt water and don’t scrape the silicone If it matters I’m talking about the waterbox peninsula 7226

I love my invertebrates. They're what brought me to saltwater in the first place. But I wonder - what is the longevity and survivability of these guys? I know some species don't survive well or don't live long. I'd like to avoid some of these. I know some of them that are difficult/ should not...
