purple gorgonian

This poor guy looks sickly. I have had him for almost 8 months. He was doing great until about a month ago when he was dislodged from his rock crevice (I'm thinking maybe an overzealous snail). However, nothing was noticeable at first, and then this shedding. Someone local suggested I frag it...

My guess its a purple brush.
