Do you need to do anything to keep them from accumulating detritus?

Nope, some of my nerites made their way into my sump so they clean them up.

I have a mandarin I get live copapods every 8 weeks and dump in tank and add ocean magic daily. I know I don’t have a sump it’s a back filter with protein skimmer, am I doing the pods too much? I’ve got live rock in tank obviously, but my mandarin doesn’t eat anything else it seems, just grazes on the pods
