Last night my 20 gal freshwater tank let out 10 gals of water. I have no idea how or why. Going to add water and test it later.

Currently I have a bigger issue. The water seeped into wood laminate flooring. Certain areas have water rising from it but hardly any. Mostly worried about warping and black mold.. If I need to replace the flooring , so be it but does anyone have any simular experiences and what they did to resolve the situation?

If you have an ato check it wasn’t to blame for a back syphon, check for salt water in your top off water.

It wouldn't have been something like that as I have no ato (its freshwater). I think one of the seams failed.

OP said its a freshwater tank.....
if you have a HOB or canister filter, if their pickup level is where water level is I'd check those. otherwise had a silicone seam pop or a crack..... petco has $1/gallon sale right now if its a tank issue just replace it.

the floor will bubble/warp at all the joints, and you will most likely have to pull it up, as its not sealed like a real hardwood floor. and will mold and stink as stated. if you have fans run them and a dehumidifier. if you can get most of water up and wasnt to long you could be ok.. but with our broken house pipe weren't so lucky... good luck

Maybe expensive, turning up the heat or buying one of those red heat lamps for $20 may work better and faster than a dehumidifier, you don’t want to do it too fast but not too slowly either , a dehumidifier can be slow.

I called my uncle who is a contractor and told me to remove the flooring and dry it off by hand. Let the concrete dry and place the flooring back should work just fine. A few pieces and some lower parts of the drywall are going to be replaced (luckily I saved a couple packs of the flooring when I installed it) but honestly damage was not as bad as it could have been. Looks like the wont cost me a penny

I will be replacing the portions that came in contact with water but the majority of the floor was fine. We are drying the concrete right now and have all the laminate against the wall. The dry laminate is separated from the wet one and will be inspecting if any if usable. Im expecting the most will be replaced though. Fortunately, I have about 2 and a half packs of the same laminate that I can use.
