The bird is in the nest! Anyone know how to get the yellow tint off? I only washed it with vinegar so far. I’m going to fill it up with Rodi and dump in 4 gallons of vinegar and let the water circulate.

I dry fitted everything. I’m going to put a 50g Rubbermaid below it for the return and reactors and adjacent to it is another 150g Rubbermaid.

I’m more concerned about left over chemicals. They used this grow tray to grow weed.

I stopped by a hydroponics store to buy a new tray and they recommended this stuff... anyone know or heard of it? They said it’s all enzymes and they use it to clean old trays. It’s non toxic and biodegradable

ohhhh so that's how you afford all these tanks! ;) haha

I hope that stuff works. do you know if the plastic trays are reef safe? after cleaning I would let it run for a week or so and test to make sure.
after all i want you to grow lots of frag in that system so you can share. :p

Hahahahaha what if I told you growing corals is more profitable than weed lol

I’m definitely going to run it without carbon for a couple of weeks and then I will send the water out to have it tested and see what the results are... gotta see if it’s leaching anything. Or maybe I should just buy a brand new tray

Yes but what about the chemicals used to grow? I’m afraid of stuff leeching [emoji23]
I doubt it. Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus, N.P.K. All those things would be found in our water as well, just lower levels. Sure some trace elements as well of course, but they are all sold in plastic containers. I doubt anything crazy has leached past the gel coat of the fiberglass. Granted your call of course, but for what its worth my opinion is that its fine after a good cleaning.

I would say...I doubt that. more market for weed than corals.
sounds like a good plan its always good to know bepending on the coast of the cleaning stuff and ICP test and price of a new tray. cleaning is prob the cheapest option. but like @JaimeAdams said your prob. fine.

dang massive flow with 2 wp60s. This is an 96” x 48” frag tank lol. I’ll put sps near the pumps and lps further down [emoji41]

Why is there a 4 foot uv sterilizer in the tank? This is a vinegar bath and I’m soaking it for a few days to clean it up lol

That is some serious flow!

I agree that nothing should leech from that tray, chances are it was all organic to begin with.
