The stand is supported by 5 2x6 on all 4 corners 4 2x6 directly under the tank transferring load on 4 corners to 8 2x6 and sitting on 1/2” ply. Also 2x6 Rails. I didn’t need the center uprights if I had a 8 ft tank but I put them to build a stand within a Stand. My sag is zero using digital calipers and a full tank with a string tied and measured a known distance from the floor before filling.
Are the 2x6 rails between the vertical 2x6s supporting the tanks corners?

Yes this is a modified rocket engineer plan. The 2x6 make legs so a rail sits on a 2x6 which then sits on another 2x6 at the bottom distributing weight.

Update time:

Got a new reefer added to the family. Mama and baby are perfect.

First thing I did was show him his college fund

He was not impressed. That lil poop machine then laughed at my coral collection

Now then: my pod experiment is going great. I gave up on phyto and I’m using Lazys reef blend. I have like a million pods. I’ve been dosing 1 cup a night and every night I check the tank a hour after lights out the glass is covered.

Chaeto farm is doing well. Basically when I prune my chaeto reactor I toss it in here. It’s full of pods and stuff. This tank costs basically nothing to run. From time to time I throw in a little skimmate.

I picked up my Frag tank and I’m in the process of
Building the stand and getting it ready.
It’s a 60 gallon cube

So Far its been smooth sailing after the quarantine. I have a second and final batch of fish in quarantine right now. One is a flame angel and I'm soooooooooooooooOOoOooo worried it wont make it lol. I'm gonna add my first drops of cupramine today.

Polyplabs medic basically did nothing that I could tell.

Since my tank requires 20 drops per 10 gallon I would need to add roughly 60 drops for DOSE A and another 60 drops for DOSE B.

Cuz of the flame I'm thinking of doing 30 drops... Wait 48 hrs and then do another 30 OR

10 drops every 12/24hrs - im not going to .5ppm im going to say around .3 max - what yall think

My curse with flame angels is keeping up. I lost the one in quarantine. Not to the copper dosing but a bacterial infection

In my display sump I’ve started getting this weird white slime. I don’t dose anything and over time this builds up. Not sure what it is and it doesn’t seems to affect anything.

I clean it out and seems nothing is impacted. My test coral in the display seems fine.

Might be from inside the hose u used

Maybe but I used the hose for other things and no slime. I think it’s probably reed gods curse and perhaps from no bubbling up in my sump the water there is usually smooth as glass.

It’s very quiet in my sump. Inside the tank I got some brown algae but not a lot.

probably some sort of bacterial bloom bro, maybe some sort of debris is settling in the sump thats causing it?

and only you would get a frag tank without anything to frag yet. lol did you find a hook up yet down there for corals?

Still looking for a hookup for corals. Until then I’ve been shopping craigslist for tank breakdowns and stuff to see what I could get. Found a few gems and funny enough a lot of the lfs down here have quite a few chalices at very reasonable prices and sizes. I plan to build out my collection with those while I search for sps.

Yes the Frag tank was a spur of the moment purchase and truthfully it will stay empty for a little bit while I work out the big tank. I plan to build a superstructure out of flat pieces of liverock instead of the usual egg crate.

Just a little update.

Fish are doing great. No major aggression and everyone is eating well. I'm astounded at the amount of food I need to feed to keep the fish fat but that's my burden to bear. I've began collecting equipment for the frag tank but I have not finished painting or plumbing it inside yet.

In the mean time, I took my carbon offline (or it was exhausted) for the months it was on during the cycle etc so my water got a little cloudy with a bacterial bloom. I also need to do a water change that I have been kind of avoiding a little lol. UGH... bad habits!!!!!

Still not much of a cleanup crew in the tank. I haven't seen a ton of algae to warrant it but I should probably put a order in for some snails. SO far the only cleanup crew I have are a few hermit crabs.

I have added a few SPS frags and they are doing well which leads me to belive that the tank is doing well over all.

I took a trip to my local LFS and got kinda crazy ...... @_@ I had to pinch myself and leave but not before dropping some $$ on a few corals.
