20 gallon garage tank 55 gallon brute sump

Hello everyone,

Some pre-summer heat fun. Tank will be up for probably for 1-2 months before the summer heat begins or if I find a way to beat the summer heat.

System specs:

Tank: Rimless 20 gallon long with 55 gallon brute filled 3/4 with live rock.

Temperature control: Inkbird hot and cold. Set to 77 and if drops or rises it will turn on the heater or fan.

Filtration: No skimmer at the moment. No filter pads. May add skimmer into the brute later. Added Rowaphos to lower phosphates.

Lights: Radions G5. Set to WWC light schedule under 50 intensity.

Flow: Ai Nero 3 in the tank. Maxijet as my return pump in the bump. Off brand wavemaker in the brute to stir the live rock in the tank.

Salt: Red Sea blue bucket

Rocks: old rocks that were cured and dark cycled for 2 months.

Initial Parameters: Alk 7.8, Nitrates 1.5ppm, and Phosphates 0.51ppm. (Phosphates high probably from previous dead matter on the live rocks - algaes)

Corals to add: gsp, gonis, chalices and beginner acros.

Fish: who knows. Probably utilitarian fishes.

For sure. Rolling sump. Brute on rollers. Never had a sump on rollers.

2 - 55 gallon rodi water barrels.

Planning to add my unused Alkatronic to check my alkalinity

Also need to figure out ato. Kalk. Supplements situation. Haven't tried all for reef.

Going to make this a super low maintenance utilitarian tank.

Ato set up done. 5 gallon jug used to control overspill.

Alkatronic setup started. It's testing. Mostly looking for consistency of numbers. But I can't connect to wifi. (checked manual).l If anyone knows how to configure, please do let me know. TIA.

Update:

- Radions installed. Like the diy light mount. Simple and it works.
- Alkatronic working.
- Fragged gonis.

Next up to

- frag mummy eye chalice.
- dial in numbers to heal up these corals from the move.
- get 1 utilitarian fish.
