2nd Annual Winter Event and Charity Drive

Coastal Georgia Reef Club will be holding our annual Christmas Club Meeting with raffle proceeds to benefit Performance Initiatives of Savannah on Saturday, December 14th at 12:00 Noon.

Location is 617 East Cherry Street, Jesup, Georgia 31546

We are in the planning stages and proposed activities include:

Join us for food, drink, and fellowship with other saltwater aquarists.
Reefing discussion on emerging equipment and reefing techniques with Guest Speaker.
Frag Swap with local vendors and area reefers.
Charity Raffles and giveaways galore!
Proceeds from raffles to benefit Performance Initiatives of Savannah.

At October meeting, membership in attendance voted on and agreed to try and double the donation from $500.00 to $1000.00 for this years charity/Performance Initiatives of Savannah!

In case you didn't recall, not only did we raise the $500.00, but another group out of Savannah matched our donation for a total of $1000.00. We were able to send (6) six student athletes and chaperones to the Winter Blast Camp, where (3) three went on to medal in events!

This year we would like to see of we can extend last years commitment and add more students to the Winter Blast Event. If you are or know a sponsor who would be interested in helping CGRC with this charity fund drive, and would like to donate products, services, or just donate cash to this, please email me at: [email protected]

Also, for this year, in addition to our normal raffles for items donated, we will be holding a couple special raffles for some high dollar items. These special raffles will be of a limited entry number, and we will update on raffle items and # of available tickets.

Raffles will, as always, be limited to CGRC members in good standing for 2019. New members can sign up and paid 2019 dues to enter any of the raffles. Also, for this year, we will hold individual raffles offers and have entry boxes for each item. Members can purchase raffle tickets and enter into as many of the raffle items as they prefer based on # of tickets purchased. This way allows for members to choose only those items of interest.

Also, for this year, and for all raffles, members must be in attendance at event to enter raffles.

As this event continues to grow in size, we may be forced to change the venue to a larger size location. CGRC member Andrew Juettner is going to research for a centrally located site that we may use if interest in this event would indicate a need.

We have had some great support from the reef community sponsors for raffle items. Of special interest is a pair of raffles already underway for a Waterbox 10 gallon reef tank setup and an ApexEL aquarium controller. Many, many other raffles going on during the event. You don’t want to miss this!

Monies raised from raffles will go to assist with helping Performance Initiatives of Savannah with sending student athletes to a FCA sponsored event over the Christmas Holidays.

Raffle tickets will be available at event, with raffles starting at 1:30 pm.
