Been lurking on here for a while, decided i should post my build. During the central texas freeze, my old 60g cube started the crash. Decided to turn the bad into a positive and use this to start a new tank build. I started with a standard 75g, but didnt like the dimensions. Im not a fan ofbthe 18" depth and 24" height.

Starting with the $20 fb marketplace special. Now the real work begins...

After what seemed like forever, the panels are finally all removed and cleaned. I had to get the old bottom panel cut to become the new back. Tank is coming along and ready to be sealed.

While the tank is curing, time to turn my attention to the stand. Playing around with a little analysis.

Got the stand built and started to leak test. Everyrhing is going good so far. Went with a ghost overflow. Which also became the first hurdle of the build. Since the tank was previously drilled, i didnt have many options for the external overflow box since the previous tank was already drilled.

So I did what amy sane person would do. Decided to try my hand at making my own overflow. 3 boxes later, i finally have a winner. Found it was easier for me to use one continuous piece for the back and side and have rounded edges. Its not the prettiest, but it works.

Got all the plumbing finished. I didnt have a lot of room so i was only able to put in a manifold with 2 unused ports for later use. My thoughts are to use one port to run a gfo/carbon reactor and the other port for easy water changes.

Jumped forward a little, but i finished the aquascape and covering the stand. Here is the tank in place and filled.

After the tank cycled. First 2 inhabitants are a small tomini tang and an adorned wrasse. I have been trying to find one for years amd finally was able to get one.

And we have the uglies.... I added 2 hydra 32hd's, 2 nero 5's and a nero 3. Overall happy how everything is progressing.

Currently, the tank has been up and running for a few months flawlessly. All signs of any uglies are gone. Due to life events, I just started adding more corals. Currently i dont have a lot, but my current list is sbb marvin the martian zoas, og wolverines, yodas, cb white walkers, a couple heads of splatter hammers, frozen picasso shroom, superman disco's. I have to get a current picture of the tank. Everything is small, so it doesnt look a lot different haha.

But at least my marvin sprouted 2 new polyps. 20230725_213740.jpg

That plumbing is on point. Very nice work increasing the radius to keep flow consistent.

The gang all together. I think Timmy has an identity crisis. I got him when he was about an inch and he grew up with a twin spot wrasse. He always followed that wrasse around the tank, mimicing looking around with the wrasse. Yes the lfs just wanted some sales when i didnt know how big they got. Fast forward to today, these 3 have formed their own little school and are always together.
