Never ending. If you use it often enough a magnetic glass cleaner works. I suggest a floating one . If it loses magnetic contact it floats to the top instead of sinking to the bottom.

the only reason i dont recommend a mag cleaner is the sand and glass.....
Ive destroyed a few tanks this way.
I use the green scrubby attachment or my hand and a mr clean magic eraser.

Get some algae eaters in there in proper balance and its not an issue assuming your equipment is up to snuff and your not in the cycling stage......its all about ecosystem balance..........your a keeper of the water.......everything else will work itself out.

Looks like diatoms which is common in a new tank. These will go away. You will probably get different kinds. green, purple, pink. Get a good scraper and make it part of your daily/weekly care.

You don't really ever stop it, nor want to.

Having a little bit of algae on the glass is good. It prevents other, more nuisance type algaes, from popping up. Also provides food for other good organisms in the tank. I keep my front glass clean and allow algae to grow on the sides.
