Any idea what is on the back of rock?

Anyone know what these little whitish things are on the back of my rock? They remind me of dandelions with the white fuzzy top but much much smaller.

I got same creatures in my aquarium. Are they harmless? I think they kill my gsp but im not sure..
How can we get rid off them?

I agree that they are hydroids. IME, they will go away on their own. I'm guessing it's a fairly new tank?
