Two of my nems are doing this. Are they hungry and eating their own tentacles?

It's possible that they are munching on a tentacle.

How often do you feed it, and what?

Overall, I wouldn't worry too much.

When you should start worrying is when you can see it's not healthy.

I would expect that it's bringing small particulate to its mouth. That's a natural feeding response and IMO much more likely than auto-cannibalism. You really don't need to feed nems

I agree that it looks like a feeding response. The nem looks healthy so it's not a concern.
