Hey R2R, I just got a few baby clownfish, barely an inch in size.

I bought Piscine Energetics pellets, grounded them up into smaller pieces, almost powder like and they still have trouble eating it

Any recommendations?

If the OP happens to be near Baton Rouge, LA I can give you some Speckled Trout eggs which are quite small and elicit a crazy feeding response.

@Boblaw has good ideas I bet they would love some LRS reef frenzy. Fish eggs is a real good idea. The pellets probably aren't very appetizing to the little guys .

Yeah,
I used to buy that red frozen bar. Could not find it anymore.

Same here, used to be everywhere, and I no longer see it, so I too have been wondering about cyclopseze

I think PE calanus is kind of an alternative, but NLS also makes small sized pellets that should be no problem, especially as they get used to it.
My clowns go nuts for NLS

Barely an inch clowns should not have any problems eating what you offered them. They might not like it, but size-wise they are fine with regular pellet size foods, like Spectrum.

This food looks great but wow it costs $20 a pack at my LFS. is it really worth the cost?
Yes absolutely. $20 in this hobby is nothing. If you want happy thriving fish only buy the best food for them. LRS is really good quality stuff and every fish goes crazy for it. They will also love mysis shrimp and NLS pellets. The pack of LRS will last a few long time also.

Is there anywhere I can buy online instead of local stores? I don’t see it on BRS or drsfostersmith
