I just picked up 10 banded trochus snails and put them on my rocks. I’ve had this annoying brown hairlike algae for awhile and nothing will eat it. Thought I’d try these snails but soon after I placed them on the rocks they flipped themselves over and do not try to right themselves. Almost like this algae is something they don’t want to touch. Pictures attached. Is this somewhat normal trochus behavior or do I have a bigger problem on my hands with this algae?

I tried fixing them a few times but they continue to flip back.

I think there's a lot more variables at play here. As for trocus snails flipping themselves over on purpose is something I've never heard of. They are one of my top snail choices because they right themselves after falling over.
