Bio pellets in an AIO?

Doing a new 25g lagoon build, anyone have success with a bio pellet reactor? Thanks

I've only ever been told, don't be the bio pellet guy by some of the old heads in the reefing community. I'd like to know as well if there are legitimate negatives, or really good outcomes using bio pellets, and why so many people seem to be against them.
