Have a RS 170 53 gal mixed reef, would like to add carbon, GFO reactor.
Trying to choose between the BRS mini or regular reactor to run a carbon/GFO combo. This is my first tank, and I dont know if the mini will be enough, or the regular reactor size overkill?
thx

Is there a specific reason why you want to run gfo/carbon?

thought running both for my relatively new tank would be more efficient in terms of money and real estate in my sump

Is it good preventive medicine to run a reactor? Is that not reason enough?
Depending on the type of reactor, I used to run carbon and gfo. Personally never had great success with gfo I run carbon only when needed. My sps did not like it and have seen much better success without them.
