So this post is fast forward from posts # 2-10. I housed a neon wrasse for a reefer I just met from the neighboring town which suddenly died before I could rehome it. Then all my Zoanthids melted. Now for the tank tear down starting post # 11. Here she sits:

Well I had surgery in January so I was lamed up for a couple months. I couldn’t move around too well so I quit working on my RS Reefer 250 and became depressed. Thread link to the Reefer here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/r...poke-reef-we-have-water-start-page-61.321175/
I thought about totally getting out of the hobby and selling everything. I was also overwhelmed by the complexities of my Reefer and how I overthought everything. Main reason for the complexities was I waited three years to get into my house where the landlord would allow aquariums. (See Reefer build thread.) With the slowdown of my surgery and the sudden desire for a simpler tank, I came up with some options: Planted FW tank for the Reefer, FW display for the US 10 GAL I had for quarantining, or Zoanthids display for the same tank. After some thought in the middle of the night I went with the Zoanthids display and ordered a 5-plug frag pack of assorted Zoanthids from Vivid Aquatics.

***********

A few images of the tank before i introduce the oversized stand.

Had my friend Joe help me with this plywood platform for the 170 stand. Sits on top of the 80/20 frame to keep weight of QT on perimeter of stand. Lip around plywood keeps a little water pooled for leak detection probe. I’ll caulk inside of lip and paint the plywood.
