Can activated carbon be used after left out in the open .

Hi Guys, just wondering I left a a new pack of activated carbon out in the open for a week in a dry condition . Can I still use it in my sump . Just worried if it has absorbed any impurities in the air and releases it into my reef tank .

As long as you rinse it I think it should be ok. Unless you smoke 2 packs a day a d hit it with febreez and hit it with Mr clean lol

Depends on your air. I would not use it if stored open in a garage with pesticides.

In normal home air, the worst that is likely to happen it reduced activity.
