Agree with birsdsnest and it looks like bubble algae or hair algae possibly both/one on top of each other.

Yea it’s weird it’s literally only on that one piece of coral nowhere else really. I think i’m still sort of going through new tank algae cycle. Also during this part of the light spectrum late in the day the polyps seem to close up a bit, but during the day they’re all out.

It’s poccilopora and I’d cut off the dead tip with the algae growth.

Looks more like pocillipora to me with a bit of hair algae on a dead tip that could be cut off.

Pocillopora; Seriatopora usually has its polyps aligned in rows

Snip of that algae and throw it away.
