Picked up my Sony a6000 mirrorless with kit 30mm lens and decided to try a few pictures in the frag tank without any training or help. Not too bad...

The pink ******* is a nice chalice.

agreed. I've only got 2 chalices....this one and a bubble gum monster chalice. This one has grown quite well for me, while the bubble gum monster has only gotten to about half this size in the same timeframe.

I wish mine looked like that.

How long have you had it? mine sat stagnant, encrusted maybe 1/2" in the first few months and was brown for at least 9 months. All of a sudden it started coloring up at the tips, then the base started getting pearly and it started growing.

Unfortunately with the recent calcium issues...the pearly white is gone and it is mostly brown with just the tips having that nice purple color. Hoping it won't take another year to come back out of the funk.

I've had mine about 16 months. It's grown a lot and the tips have the purple but the branches and the base are still brown. You can somewhat see it in the back left corner.

Looks like you have it pretty high up as well. Mine is sitting in about 350 par at the moment. The rest of the corals look awesome in the pics, so it's hard to say what could be causing the difference. Mine looks pretty close to yours now though.

Actually mine is at the bottom. About 18”-19” down and add another 10”-11” with the height of the lights off the tank. So maybe higher par might help. Thx.

All plumbing done except for the fuge ball valve and the drain pipes on the inside of the sump!

Every connection chamfered inside and out on the pvc pipe, then glued with clear primer and medium pvc cement. Looks really clean overall! Now I have to decide if I’m going to be so picky that I rub all the barcodes off the fittings....

Where did you get the white red gate valve?

It’s actually smaller than the Alkatronic....or at least comparable in size. The Alkatronic wouldn’t fit in the space I put the Trident.

So far I’m loving it. It’s 10x quieter than the Alkatronic, seems to be more precise, and tests all 3 major levels. I don’t have to calibrate multiple pumps and a pH probe manually on a monthly basis either which is a big bonus. If I can snag another one for the frag tank I will

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
