I'll advice to use a small rock that u can move around cos if use a big rock, moving it around might be an issue.Okay. So then I need to move it to a rock. Thank you.
That's a beautiful clam! Be careful feeding larger particle foods though. Typically a clam opening/closing in rapid fashion means its "coughing" particulate out from its gills. Not trying to to say your doing anything wrong, just a heads up. It takes a lot more energy for a clam to close its valve than keep it open.As @DSCreef said, adult clams dont necessary need to be fed, they can filter out food from water and they get about 70% of their food from light. However it's good to feed them. I feed mine a mix of food. Reef roids, phytoplankton, oyster eggs, cobalt coral food, and fuel. This is what I feed all my corals. They all love it. One of my favorite part is watching the clam pump open and close when I feed it (I do spot feed all my coral).
Here's mine:
My opinion, if it's just for the sake of the clam it's really not necessary at all. If I had to choose between the 2 products then live phytoplankton. Reef nutrition makes a great "live" phyto. I wouldn't waste money on products like seachem phyto.I broadcast feed reef chili to the tank is that okay or should I add some phytoplankton?
Thanks DSC reef, I'll take note of that. I'l start to feed it just phytoplankton, marine snow, oroyster eggs. Only liquid food. Better safe than sorry...That's a beautiful clam!
