I spooked my clown and the little guy damaged his fin on a rock in front of my eyes (no foul play by other fish) ‍♀️ is this normal damage or is there something underlying I should be worried about? He seems fine and unbothered…

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

That looks like an uncomplicated fin tear, it should heal fairly quickly. Watch for it to grow in size, turn red or develop white growths, those can all be a sign of infection. Being in the UK, you are going to have trouble sourcing good antibiotics though if you do need to treat it.
