My tank is about 3 years old and I am having brown stringy algae all over the rocks and sand, it is not as bad as I've seen other tanks but as I've been searching in the forum it seems to be Dinos. Any idea what kind of Dinos this is, I do not have a microscope to see these closer. I read that microBacter7 should help, wondering if anyone has experience with this. I would like to add I have bubble algae as well and am puzzled on how to get rid of that as well.

Get your parameters up and stable , especially your phosphates and your nitrates , cut the lights back or go dark for 3 days using microbactor 7 daily. Use a UV light if you have one don’t do a water change during this time .

Should I continue to run the protein skimmer during this?
