Hi,

Im building a new custom-tank for my basement with the measures 150*60*60 cm (60*23*23 inch ish) with 160/200L (42/52g) sump under.

New mesures: 65*23*23 / 600L/158G with 200L/52G sump

List of equipment for the tank.
Wavemakers: 2x Jebao RW15 and Maxpect Gyre XF150
Return: Jebao DCS7000
Skimmer: Deltec SC1455
Light: 4x CoralBox moon + 2x54w T5
Balling+ and vodka with Jebao DP4 + slave (8channels)
Internal BeanAnimal overflow

Update: Gonna add Rolletmat as well :)

Basement is now under reconstruction and just fitted my new moist-controlled fan

Since the tank will be custom ordered I need to decide where to have my internal overflow. Got 3 options, center back, left corner or the whole left side (wont be seen)

And how should i place my wavemakers?

Now im thinking center overflow with one RW8 on each side of owerflow and one RW15 on left end an one on right.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Tank will be placed here:

Stay tuned for updates, will post progress here :)

I'd go with while left side overflow or if possible an external overflow on left side. Middle overflows are difficult to reach and corner overflows are usually small (bit easier to hide and affect scape options less than middle)

Thanks, was thinking the same, full left side it is. Why external overflow? Whats the benefits compared to internal?

Less visible or nearly non visible at all as you say left side is not visible.
Very easy to access, fix, replace bulkheads or tighten if they have a leak. very easy to clean overflow (you only make it 25-30 cm deep)
Check my build thread for pics of mine.
internal definitely works but external is simply easier if you have the space and can hide it.

Time for an update, alot has happened, the new aquarium was ordered, delivered and now returned, hehe. Got wrong thickness on the glass.

Stand: Joey (King of DIY) - setup with 6x2. No middle support (50 inch opening). 18mm (0,7 inch) plywood plate and foam. This should hold right?

While waiting on my new tank i stared making a mount for my lights, just a simple design but its cheap and easy. Will be wired to the roof when everything is ready

Just for fun i tested the Lightning effect:

Think these lamps should hold for my basic needs in the beginning.

DIY sump custom build for Rollermat :)

This is just a plain 200L/52G cheap aquarium. Went to my local glass-shop and got some custom pieces.

Not pretty but think it will do the job! No refugium, just rollermat, skimmer and reactors.
