Do you worry about cross contamination when renting PAR meters?

Topic. I'm looking to rent a PAR meter because I'm getting a little paranoid that the LFS doesn't sanitize their equipment and I could be introducing some deadly parasite that I've worked so hard to prevent by QT'ing. Any thoughts on this concern?

I would think a good wipe down with some bleach would kill anything your worried about.

I would think no worry's . as mentioned wipe the probe down with bleach & I will be OK .

Many threads on here related to ttm - rinsing and drying for 24 hours (that is, it's dry for 24hr min) will kill off anything that could live in our tanks. I would think the same applies to par meters.

Bleach is certainly a good precaution. I'd rinse it with some water and prime after the bleach and allow to dry as much as you can to insure no bleach gets into your tank.

The brs rental is $50 for 7 days. Plenty of time to rinse and dry for those that prefer not to use bleach.
