I have 2 MP60's and 2 MP40's MOBIUS READY power heads. While doing some internet surfing for new products I decided to check todays price of these pumps compared to when I purchased them 22 months ago. I found something that is very confusing. When I purchased the MP60's the max GPH was 7500GPH and I ran a test at 100% Constant Speed to verify GPH and Mobius does say 7500GHP.
I ran across this this morning and now it says 9000GPH even though mobius shows max 7500GPH at 100%.

MP60mQD

Flow: 9,000 gph (34,000 lph)
Power Consumption: 10-60 Watts
Tank Range: 120-1,000+ gal (450-3,800 liters)
Max Glass Thickness: 0.375 – 1.00 inch (9.5 – 26 mm)

IS THIS FALSE ADVERTISING OR DOES IT RUN AT 9000GPH EVEN THOUGH MOBIUS SAYS 7500GPH or HAS SOMETHING CHANGED THAT I AM NOT AWARE OF?

If any other reefers on this site have a MP60 MOBIUS READY powerhead let me know if you get 9000GPH or 7500GPH displayed on Mobius when at 100%. It can be verified very quickly by a short run in Constant Speed at 100%.

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with Ecotech to find out the conflict between an MP60mQD and wQD speed. Actually there is none. What happened is some of the older wQD's sold you had to update the firmware for Mobius and some newer wQD's came already Mobius Ready. When they changed the designation to mQD the pumps came Mobius ready and they also updated the max speed from 7500+GPH to 9000+GPH based on some new / better calculations. There is no physical difference in the pumps at all. Another thing is that 100% is 9000+GPH but Mobius still shows 7500GPH so they said they will take a look at it. I am sure most of us use our eyes to set the speeds based on movement in the tank anyways and not calculated flow so no big deal. This also means that tank (not sump) turnover rate calculations may not be what you think if you are using it as your gage for flow. Just an FYI.

I think its impossible to measure exactly how much water its moving since its internal circulation and so wide. But i wouldnt doubt that my MP60 moves 9000GPH throughout the tank at 100% constant speed.
