Hello,
This is my first foray into saltwater tanks. I wanted this project to be DIY as much as possible.

Tank:
Self built AIO tank with 6mm thick glass
24" x 16" x 16"

Equipment:
Sicce Voyager Nano 2000LPH powerhead
SunSun 500LPH return pump
Eheim jager 100w heater
Generic 30w Light

The tank was started 2 years ago cycled it for a month but due to some personal issues couldn't go about stocking it. Late last year did a 100% water change and added 3 mollies. The tank has been running for about 3 months now.

(PS: added mollies immediately after the water change, wanted to see it any nitrifying bacteria survive without any water flow and they did haven't seen any ammonia or nitrite spikes)

Little one born in the tank about a month old now.

The mollies have begun their plans for tank domination. Need to add a predator fast.

Returned home from work to find a dead clownfish in the mouth of an unknown snail and another barely alive. They were well last night when I fed them, eating perfectly fine. Truly the sight was disheartening. Where do I go from here??

That is good, maybe just shorten float to half but I don’t see a problem. I would want to rule out anything toxic that may have entered your tank. Any scented candles being used in the same room, cleaning chemicals, have you checked your equipment for any rusty parts? If not and just in case I would do a large water change and place activated charcoal in your filter chamber. Are the fish coming from the same source? Maybe try a different source.

I avoid putting my hands in the tank as much as possible. I fed the fish reef chilli which I made myself by following brstv method, could the ingredients I used have been bad?? Also I have an unidentified worm in the tank I ll put up a picture below, can worms do such harm?

Not sure, I don’t make my own food but I know that people who do avoid certain things, like things known to contain higher levels of mercury. When you purchase your next fish ask the vendor what they have been feeding it and begin with that and then start adding additional foods as the fish gets fattened up. I can’t make out the worm. It would be helpful to take it out and put it in a container and take a picture.

Thank @kevgib67 you have been alot of help. Will doing a partial rip clean by removing the sand rinsing it and catching any pests or worms help??
Actually I don’t think you need to remove and rinse the sand. Temporary removal of the worm is for a better picture so we can id it better. Many worms are a useful part of our cuc. I actually purchased bristle and spaghetti worms to put in my tank.

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
