@NoWaiAma with the Triton Method it’s recommended the sump’s first chamber be a refugium that holds 10% of the system’s volume filled with macro algae for nutrient control. With this you want detritus from the display to dump from the overflow right into the refugium. Filter socks would be counterproductive. ;-)
