I am very excited as I am pretty sure my firefish are spawning.
They are in a 40G macro algae tank, with 2 scissortail dartfish and 2 pajama cardinals.
Today when I was feeding they did not show up. I have them for 18 month or so and are usually out or about. I know where they hide, and from one small angle I can see them in their cave. They both took turn almost crawling into one very small corner of their cave, and they were shaking the way my Chromis do when they spawn. One would go in the corner, shake the other right behind shake too, and take a small break and start again and again. I doubt I will have any babies, especially that I have a coral banded shrimp though the shrimp never went in that cave, but it is the first time I see my firefish spawn and I am happy. They really chose a very well hidden place to put their eggs.
I have had other firefish before and never saw them do that.
That is the reason I am still hooked to this hobby, you get surprises so often.
