So far this is an awesome set up. Love everything about it except for the led that was bricked day one. New one coming today, free replacement from Red Sea.Good luck! Let me know how you like the Red Sea setup! I’m thinking about purchasing it myself!
Yea this is a very slick setup so far. I am really enjoying it. My only complaint is that i didn't go with a 250 or 350 now that its all set up. If the budget allows, I would definitely opt for a larger setup. Just my 2 cents.Very nice looking so far! I'm also looking into the Reefer 170 or 250 and you're making the decision a little easier
I have a reefer 170 and love it. If I was looking at a new one, I’d probably go with the reefer 300. The 200/300s have leveling feet on them.Very nice looking so far! I'm also looking into the Reefer 170 or 250 and you're making the decision a little easier
nice did any par readings on it?its good from what i can tell so far, i dont see hardly any shadows except for one or two places that you would absolutely expect one to be.
Well welcome to our community it’s a lot of fun!!Hey guys!
This will be my first go at a reef tank and im a firm believer in the buy nice or cry twice mentality. Had some great guidance along the way in terms of what i should purchase to get started. I put my order in yesterday, so hopefully it will arrive next week. Here is what i have bought so far:
Octo VarioS-4 Controllable DC Water Pump - Reef Octopus
300 Watt Titanium Heater w/Digital Controller (40-80 Gallon) - Finnex
300 Watt Titanium Heater w/Digital Controller (40-80 Gallon) - Finnex
Reefer DELUXE 170 Aquarium w/ReefLED 90 - Red Sea
Ill pick up test kit, refractometer, rock, sand etc from the LFS once I have an idea as to when this will be delivered. The Reefer170 comes with Red Sea's ReefLED light which i believe is the 90w version. Thinking with this set up i should be able to run just about any corals. Will start with some softies and lps before i dive in to sps.
Once the tank gets cycled ill probably look at purchasing the Vortech MP-10 for my powerhead.
Looking forward to being part of this awesome community, any tips or suggestions to help me get started would be very welcomed!
I have not, dont have a meter, would need to check with LFS to borrow or rent one. I believe red sea has values posted out there somewhere though. I can try to find them.nice did any par readings on it?
Thanks! Loving every minute of this already.Well welcome to our community it’s a lot of fun!!
