fish with clear string coming out of mouth

I have a scribbled boxfish that has been in quarantine for some time now and was getting closer to going in the DT. Today I the fish got some squid stuck in its mouth that I had to manually remove. Later on when I checked on the fish it had something clear and stringy coming out of its mouth as it would breath in and out. Could this be related to the earlier food issue or something I need to treat for? I have several meds on hand. Thank you
