I had brook outbreak in DT where 2 clowns were showing symptoms.
Since I have removed 2 clowns and angel to hospital tanks, giving clowns 90 min acriflavine bath. Angel did not get prior treatment before going to QT as it was not showing symptoms.

One clown died, but other seems to made recovery in 2 weeks, although still breathing fairly rapidly.

I am leaving Display tank fallow for 6 weeks while treating fish.

I have since got hands on metroplex and formalin. And dosed metroplex for 14 days.

Would you give angel and clown bath in formalin before returning to DT?
I heard it's harsh, so rather would avoid if metro does same job

Formalin based meds impossible to find but most effective with brook and acriflavine takes longer but works
It’s possible it may have been overdosed and always increase oxygen with treatments

Formalin works better than metronidazole against Brooklynella, IMO. Formalin is toxic to people and tricky to use. Do you have true formalin, which is labelled as 37% formaldehyde solution? Don't use it is it is labelled 10% NBF, that is a fixative.

The dose would be 150 ppm for a one hour dip with good aeration, and then dose the tank at 25 ppm daily for three to five days to kill any parasites in the tank. Use proper safety precautions!

Don't forget about paraguard for it! That's also aldehyde based

My problem is that they apparently changed the formulation of Paraguard some time ago and it stopped working as well as it used to.....
