SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon quadrimaculatus

COMMON NAME: Fourspot Butterflyfish

SIZE: 6.4†(16 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 75 US Gal (284 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: The Fourspot Butterflyfish feeds on small polyped stony corals, meaty foods, and frozen preparations.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: This species will eat small polyped stony corals.

CAPTIVE CARE: The Fourspot Butterflyfish is a Pacific species that is generally considered difficult tokeep. They tend to be shy and are reluctant to feed until acclimated. They cannot be kept with aggressive tankmates and several hiding places are required along with a peaceful community tank. Live food, live rock with encrusting invertebrates and algae, or a lush growth of filamentous algae are a big plus in acclimation and feeding response.
