Good or bad isopod? Definitely not the usual copepod or amphipod that I see.

I can usually identify a typical pod, but this one is new to me. It isn’t going to make it into my tank either way, just curious if it is a good guy or a bad guy.

He’s a jumper. Leapt from the outside of the bag onto my hand and then into the bucket of frags.

I have no idea but have seen other people focus on the eyes to differentiate some species of isopods.

Looks like a sphaeromatid isopod... did it roll up in a ball when you caught it?

Not completely like the ones I'd find under a log, but it did curl up maybe half way.
Likely spheromatid or closely related. Cirolanids don't curl at all, from what I've read. I'd still hesitate to throw back in without a positive ID. Have you seen more in the tank?

It came in on a frag, so fortunately no others in the tank. I didn't see any others when I inspected and did a dip.
