I'm unable to determine if the Hanna HI721 Iron Checker works correctly with salt water, fresh water, or both? Does anyone on here know?

I suggest you test the water before you mix in the salt, and then you can test the water again when the salt is mixed (before any additives), if this moves the needle, then you test again after you add any suppliments to give you side-by-side-by-side results for reference.

Yes, I dose iron for my chaeto. I'd rather not dose something I'm unable to measure, but I have been for the last year or more.

I used the HI721 for almost a year on my old 110 gallon tank when I was dosing Iron for the Red Sea Trace program to target 0.15 ppm. Never had any issues with fish, corals, inverts, etc when dosing Iron and staying at that target range. I did feel my greens really popped during this time compared to without Iron dosing.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
