Has anyone made a custom Radion XR30 tank mount? OR modified RMS mount to be higher?

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone has made a custom Radion XR30 light mount that is able to go higher then then 8" you get with the Radion tank mount? I ask because I would like to mount one XR30 above a 3' tank and I would like it to be cleanly tank mounted, not hung. I would like to raise the G6 up to get a bit more spread over the 3' tank. I do know that 2 XR15's would be an option and i've thought about it however honestly I would prefer just one light. I was going to do 2 or 3 AI blades however I have seen too many bad reviews of uneven light distribution and I don't want to get stuck in the return it for a new one game. I also prefer the look of just one smaller light over the tank. I plan to keep sofites and LPS so not too worried about PAR with increased height. I believe the AI HMS system would give me more height but it does not appear to be compatible with the ecotech RMS system. Any input would be helpful!

You may find that the increased spread of the G6 is enough without having to raise the light up further.

I have.. it’s easy if you’re a diy guy with a little skills lol.. it’s fully adjustable from 4” to 11” that’s a xr15 but I did make one just like it to hold a 30. It’s sitting in my garage and I’m not home to take a picture lol..

I made a custom XR30 mount out of 2" x 3/8" aluminum flat bar. I also made a XR30 slide out of aluminum flat plate, but the stock plastic one would have worked.





I saw this on Reef Central a few years ago. Very clean and sleek.

I've seen people use the kessil mounting arm. Drill a hole in the middle of the xr30 mount and attach it to the kessil arm with a nut and bolt.
