I know variety is the spice of life, and I currently have 3 options for food:
1. Bio-Pure Frozen Mysis Shrimp - Hikari
2. 1.2 mm Pellets Dry Hatchery Diet - Sustainable Aquatics
3. CD Crossover Diet Fish & Coral Food - Neptune Systems

I saw on Hikari's website it listed the item as a TREAT

I rather not be feeding this "treat" as a daily option. So, my question is:

1. Is this mysis shrimp a good "everyday primary" meal?
2. If not can someone please suggest an alternative and I will keep the MS as a treat
3. Are vitamins suggested? If yes, can you recomend one please?

FYI: I have 3 fish, Clown, Damsel and a Royal Gramma. They all eat the food listed above. But the RG loves the frozen MS, and the other two love the pellets.

I have a rotation of 5 different frozen foods and only use pellets when I'm lazy. As you said, variety is best.

I’ve fed my fish Hikari frozen mysis along with other kinds of Hikari frozen food for years.

I feed frozen at least once a day, sometimes 3 times a day if I'm home.

Pellets only get used in the auto feeder when I'm not home.

I think the 'treat' part is due to cost, but I make some of my frozen food from grocery store items.

I feed only frozen twice a day and Hikari mysis is one of them along with rods reef frenzy nutrition and brine shrimp.

It's certainly a better staple than say, brine shrimp, which can be essentially water when not gut loaded. PE Mysis is one of my go-to foods.

I'd reccomend a selcon soak if you're feeding it exclusively. If you have access, PE mysis is a little better quality in my experience

No one single source food can provide all the nutritional needs of your fish!
Imagine eating your single favorite food exclusively every day of your life. How long do you think you would stay healthy?
There may be a few exceptions to this as some animals have very specific diets.
