I have two strange things in my tank that I need some help identifying. One is a starfish, definitely not an Asterina and an unknown anemone looking thing, definitely not aptasia, unfortunately I have enough of those to be quite familiar.

first one I have no clue. 2nd one is type of starfish but I'm not sure. possibly asterina but not likely. I'd put it in a container til you learn if it's safe or not.

Between my phone screen and my eyesight, I can't make out the little details needed on these for a proper ID - I'll take a look on my pc tomorrow, but a bright pics of the nem from that angle would be good, and a pic of the mouth/tentacles would be great if you can get one.

For the starfish, a closer up pic of the top of it under white light would be good, but it may be an Aquilonastra ("Asterina") species - there are 32 recognized species in the genus, and some of them get decently large/lanky (for lack of a better term) like that.

Appears to be a small flower anemone that may be bleached. Asterina star in the pic not to be trusted. They eat algae but also go after zoa coral and multiply like mice

First one looks like it's on the underside of a rock. Could it be a ball anemone? It has a meatier base than ones I've seen but it might be.

Found this picture of one from an old post.

Seems like a lot of votes for Asterina starfish but it's like 4 or 5 times the size of any Asterina starfish I've ever seen.

Ball anemone maybe. It showed up on the bottom of an overhang a couple weeks or so ago and hasn't seemed to move. It does appear to have a foot like an anemone.

This is indeed a ball anemone. Unlike aptasia and Majano, I had one 2 years ago and it remained, had nice color and only one more ever emerged. They remain small and here is a puzzling fact is they are a good anemone. Anemone ???
Ball Anemones are actually not anemones at all, it is actually a mushroom coral that is commonly confused by too many as a Majano Aiptasia. Unlike an Aiptasia, they are reef safe, they commonly stay closed during the day and open up at night. The tips if its anemone-like tentacles end with a ball tip giving it its' name
