I am having trouble with the intake tubing on my calcium reactor getting clogged with debris. I am considering some sort of fine mesh “strainer” to keep it from getting clogged, but I wanted to ask you geniuses first: How do you prevent your intake tubing from clogging?

This photo and suggestion comes courtesy of @Abhishek on another calcium reactor thread. He uses a fuel filter and attaches it to RO tubing by using a pair of 5/16“ x 1/4” John Guest connectors. This was suggested to him by Adam of Battle Corals and is used in Deltec calcium reactors as well. It is suggested to take the fuel filter apart and clean it every three months.

While the genius’s work up their multiple thousand word theses in response to your question .... might be helpful to provide a bit of context. Where are you pulling from, are you using a needle valve on the draw line, etc.? I’ve never had my draw line get clogged with detritus.
