Run lots of tap water through the new aquarium. I see you didn't use aquarium safe silicon. It's not a major deal but you won't want to put fish in it right way. Try to keep water in it for a bit so the chemicals leach out. Good job on the silicon. Looks like it will hold well.

Edit: Is that GE brand aquarium safe?

Ge silicone -#1 is aquarium safe and doesn’t have any mold additives or anything else, people have been using it for years.

I’m going to be resealing again today for a better finish and will give it 3 days to cure before water test.

I’m taking no risks this go around. Going to do some test runs on this little aqueon 10g.

Looks great

The only thing was when I ran out, some of the silicone I shot didn’t run directly in the corner. I’m hoping the smoother forced it into the seam.

Also, the time spent looking for the spare canisters made the silicone dry at the end and so the tape hope in that spot isn’t as seamless as it is on the other side.

Regardless, the visible seams are pristine. The 10mm bead should be more than enough. In the previously mentioned weak spots, I might run a 16mm just to make sure it’s ok.

I haven’t had such a glorious moment since my freshman year on the varsity hockey team.
