It is great to look forward to seeing the tank. For two months it would sit in the living room with me and I was not happy. It was ugly. My plan was patience, but that is so hard sometimes. You want to, even feel you need to, do something drastic to change the tank, but it was better to change me. Change my expectations and my tolerance.
Using corrective chemicals, making big changes, even shutting it down would have all been mistakes. I knew the heart of my reef, the live rock, was strong and I just had to trust it to adapt over time. A few extra water changes and general maintenance continued and finally it all seems to be catching up.
Our resident reef whisperer, @Katrina71 has been dead on so far on the recovery of corals. Every day I see something that I thought was a goner showing signs of life. Crazy to think I almost cleaned out all of the skeletons and tossed them. I have learned a ton from this crash.

Lobophyllia on Monday. Skin was thin and you could see the underlying skeleton poking through. The mouth was a tiny bit agape. Remember, this is still an improvement from a month ago.
This was Thursday. You can see the mouth is closed and it is actually puffed up with some nice contours throughout the skin. Baby steps.
