id on slug please

i know its a sea slug but is is bad or good

also how on earth did it pass my dips

Does it have a shell inside of it? Could you get some straight-on, side pics of it showing the full length of the specimen (including the antennae)?

no shell i can see but not touching it

Definitely a nudibranch of some sort, maybe Dendrodoris nigra?

D. nigra is a good guess - OP, does the critter have a little, bushy "tail" on the side opposite the antennae?

yes i know that
my first though when i say it on the glass was holy moly. thats a big flat worm
but once i took it off the glass and put it in a cup
i saw it flopping like a nudi

then the antennae confirmed it for me

The end of the body on the far side away from the antennae.

Edit: To add, they sometimes shrink it down pretty intensively, so it may basically look like a decent-sized, circular crater.

If it doesn't have the "tail" (or the "ball" or "crater" where the "tail" should go), then it's a different critter (and probably distantly related).

D. nigra would be reef-safe, as it only eats highly specific sponges - it would inevitably starve in our tanks.

It wouldn't nuke a tank, but it could raise nutrients if it's big enough/in a small enough tank.

surprised i missed it in the dip if it came in recently

It will most likely only eat a handful (like 1-4) different specific species of sponges - it won't eat all sponges.

dang thatlooks identical to a elephant slug, but considering it has those 2 ears it has to be a nudi/slug
