Worth keeping?Caulerpa racemosa var. laetevirens
It can spread pretty quickly if not trimmed often. Caulerpa in general seems to have a higher probability of going sexual in tank than alot of other macros. Up to you if you like it. You could always add it to the refugium if you have one.Worth keeping?

It's not mermaids wine glass. Completely different growth pattern. It's var. Laetevirens. Its not caulerpa but rather known as Acetabularia sp- trade name : Mermaid's Wineglass
Its not a bad coral or a nuisance But can annoy nearby coral. I recommend placing it in sump with light as it will lower nitrates
You have pictured one of 23 common variety of mermaids Cup (better known as) . I personally have had these in various tanks over the last three decades.
Notice how the stalks of mermaids wine glass don't branch? These do.You have pictured one of 23 common variety of mermaids Cup (better known as) . I personally have had these in various tanks over the last three decades.
Heres another version:
Looks at mermaids cup. Many varieties.Notice how the stalks of mermaids wine glass don't branch? These do.
Seeing this in your hand, it can be bikinensis algaeThat looks like it's the one. Here is another pic.
Same with caulerpa. Along with many known variants like the one I listed. Look up C. racemosa var. Laetevirens.Looks at mermaids cup. Many varieties.

Yup, that's it. The photo I posted was from a marine science journal with the i.d. I listed. That looks like it's the one. Here is another pic.
Looks like Caulerpa chemnitzia (once Caulerpa peltata) to me.Caulerpa racemosa var. laetevirens
I agree with @Isopod80 that this is not Mermaid’s cup (Acetabularia). Said algae has no substantial rhizome, while OP’s algae does (Caulerpa has a substantial rhizome). The caps of Mermaid’s cup also feature lines radiating out from their centers. The caps of OP’s Caulerpa do not.Looks at mermaids cup. Many varieties.

bikinensis is in the Caulerpa genus not Acetabularia.Looks at mermaids cup. Many varieties.
