I had a 55 gallon with a 20g long sump unser and it worked great. Always run a skimmer imo. It takes out waste cuts back eron water changes exports nutrients. That all depends on how well it works. I have a instant ocean hob skimmer and it works well. I'd always go with one bigger than the tank size. What did ya order?
The coralife super 65 gallon..the next one up is 125 gallon, but I thought it might be too much (price and capacity) and the delivery date was 2 weeks out. So you run 24/7 also? Beautiful tank!

Yea i believe most ppl do. I always have at least. Right now its w messy tank. Coral just sitting everywhere, gotta find a home for them. As long as your skimmer is rated for your size it should be fine but ppl run bigger because we overstock tanks lol

THIS guy- he's a baby here, but then he hit crabpuberty or something, morphed 3 times his size overnight. Scared the holybejeezus out of me when I saw this massive claw come out of the rock. See the crabs behind him? Yeah...he ATE them. And 3 peppermint shrimp. I keep tweezering him chunks of meat bc I'm afraid he'll eat the fish.

I have been trying to get a good pic so I could update y'all on exactly what I'm dealing with here after his molt....
Here's a claw. Rock included for size reference.

He always looks shocked and insulted when i take a picture Haha. 2nd pic is some of his other tank buddies. He's in the cave up top. Then we have Spike the Sea Urchin wearing I don't know what, a gorgonian twig? Below is the Horseshoe crab who is also named Spike because, well, we forgot. And my rescue foxface who was suffering in a 1 gallon tank at the lfs.
Excuse the green hair algae, constant battle
How about you, do you have some big personalities in your tank?

Never seen anyone with a horseshoe crab in their tank! I do not. I have clowns, tangs, a blenny, 6 line, firefish, royal grama, and chromis. Kinda ordinary peeps

She's a character! Definitely keeps the sandbed well aerated and any worms under control. She has recently run out of worms, so now she digs herself out and goes flailing wildly about in the current (she THINKS she can swim) until I give her pellets.
What do you like about your fish?

I have two kinda white crabs! Fast little buggers...still pretty small 18 months later, about the size of a nickel now. Not sure what they are but they have dark pointy claws...

Hey @TriggerFinger , did you ever have success trapping these crabs? I have two of the exact same crabs, but I have yet to actually see them out in the open -- I have only seen their molts.

Nope. They haven’t grown hardly at all and haven’t hurt anything. I gave up long ago.

More hitchhikers I've never seen before, and maybe two mollusks??
First up: some type of oyster?
2: purple finger sponges?
3: orange sponge? Deep in the rock
4: next to that, tiny black clam?
5: pink lacy algae?
6: purple hairy...fungus? Bottom is white and very soft

Lol, love the thread title! So is this stuff teleporting into your tank, a wormhole, multi-dimension doors or some type of cognitive attention span thing? Need more nouns lol. You add new live rock recently?

Yes this post was the day after I added live rock LOL. Interestingly I have a separate small tank with a mantis shrimp and isolated his one rock straight from the shipment. It's growing entirely different hitchhikers. Weeks later now, I discover a bunch of tiny pineapple sponges and baby brine shrimp.
Also I MIGHT have forgotten to lock the Tardis...
