I just got “clean” chaeto from algae barn. Put in in some fresh rodi for a soak and it’s making random clicking, popping type noises. There is random movement of the individual strands. Is this normal or do I have a horror movie in a bowl?

You could have lysis of the plant cells due to the change in salinity. Did algae barn recommend a freshwater dip? It's not something I would do personally. BTW - the video is not visible to me - if you posted a link to YouTube, then everyone can see it. Hope this helps.

PS how long was your dip? Freshwater will not kill velvet most likely there is none on the chaeto itself

About 15 minutes. There are so many posts about fresh rodi water not hurting chaeto and that it’s a good precaution to take. Newb mistake I guess.
