is the gen 3 sk5000 shorter in length than the gen 2 ?

I don't believe it has changed in size. Aquacave has the Gen 2 dimensions as:
  • L x W x H (w/o extension arm) = 10.03" x 8.85"x 18"
  • L x W x H (with extension arm) = 10.03" x 14.5" x 22.04"
  • Footprint = 5.7" x 10.03"
Those seem consistent with the dimensions listed on the mfg website for Gen 3
