I've had my Peninsula 650 up for almost 4 years and had very little success. Care to help me get on track?

Mostly lps, a couple softies and very few sps left. Everything is perking up. Corals come from one source. I think the bulk of the issue has actually already been addressed. I was running waaaaay too much carbon (reef rox) and I'm switching back to Red Sea blue bucket salt to address some parameters and fluctuations.

I ran several more water changes to ensure I adequately addressed the elevated aluminum levels (from the now removed phosguard reactor) and am sending off another Oceamo test to verify it's gone.

Well uh, I've gotta admit I'm feeling pretty foolish. It's been a week and not only has everything perked right back up, I'm seeing visible growth and color improvement universally. You saved me R2R. You saved my tank.

I'm going to give it another week or two and I guess I owe y'all a build thread.

Any updates on how things are going?
Onwards and upwards. Things have continued to improve. I've removed the reactors and the filter roller. Turned my skimmer down, feeding more. Fauna Marin LPS pellets have been popular with the coral. Fish aggression has completely tapered off now that they're not hungry all the time. I've also ceased testing much to be honest. Alk/calc maybe every other week. Just watching algaes to monitor nutrients. It's been a lot less stress, a lot more fun and having a lot more success. The Red Sea salt seems to be treating everything better too. Lot more color and actual growth now with a lot less work!
