I have two spots of what resembles lightning emanating from my substrate. The one on the back glass is pretty obvious. The one on the front looks like something brushed up against. It looks like sand is attached to whatever is making the patterns. Any ideas what this is? Sorry for the poor quality of the first pic. Trying to shoot over rocks to get a good angle.

Thanks! I think the sand coating is from a certain pistol shrimp doing some excavating last night. Wish I could have seen what actually created the patterns.

Tonight I can see them as they creep up my overflow. Tiny green worms stretching out in every direction. I'm really surprised nothing is eating them. Looks like an easy feast for my six line wrasse.

From the tunneling in your sand, they could be Spaghetti Worms.
