Looking at selling coralline algae spores but need advice first.

Looking at selling crumbles of coralline algae spores online. Would all I’d do is put the chips and shavings in a plastic tube or cup and ship? How would you pack it for shipping and would it survive just ups priority? How much would I charge? Any advice helps thanks in advance!

I can’t see charging much for coralline shavings.

It is nutrient export. I frag & sell soft coral or ornamental macros which always has a market.

Ppl who don't see results want their money back.... and get adamant about it, like it's personal.

It's a buyers rights world where everyone demands perfection and they don't get it, they scream from the mountain tops in reviews

Get 3-5 bad reviews, ppl.will shy away thinking your offering is crap.

I also doubt you could sell it for very much. Most people I know will just get a snail from the lfs that already has coralline growing on it to introduce the algea to their tank. That only costs a few dollars and you get a snail also.

Be certain this is a niche market.

I always throw in big chunks for free anytime someone local asks. My original piece came from a lfs. Not sure about shipping but I know it's sold in room temperature sealed containers from some manufacturers. I would guess just throw it in a bag of tank water and ship it priority?

I'd guess you could also just package it up the way you would to sell and then put it outside for several days and then check to see if it survived. That way no one needs to pay for shipping for what is basically a test run.
